Thank you to everyone who attended our SEND Conference on 2 April 2025 in Hull; we were thrilled to host over 200 delegates from 8 different Local Authority areas!

The training focused on a curriculum designed specifically for pupils with severe and complex learning difficulties. This important area of education was explored in depth, offering valuable insights, strategies and resources.

Rachel Wilkes, CEO, opened the event, setting the tone for a day filled with learning and collaboration. We were delighted to have insightful sessions delivered by Berni Moorcroft, Vicky McGuire and Alec Young. Their expertise and engaging presentations enriched the conference experience and the glow sticks in the dark were a surprising and fun addition. Thank you Berni, Vicky and Alec!

Attendees were truly engaged throughout the event, showing a keen interest in the sessions and actively participating in discussions and activities. The opportunities for networking were well-received, allowing delegates to connect and share ideas. We received fantastic feedback about the event, including one delegate who stated “This is the best CPD I have had in years”.

We would like to give a special thank you to Hull City Council who subsidised the venue and refreshments costs. We would also like to take the opportunity to thank the staff and helpers who ensured the event ran smoothly. We also extend our gratitude to the venue staff at MKM Stadium, who looked after us brilliantly, contributing to the overall success of the day.
