Progress, Partnership and Pride

After a busy and rewarding week across Humber Education Trust, we were delighted to spend a full day with our Trustees for our annual Trustee Visioning Day.
The day began at Clifton Primary School, where Trustees were able to see first-hand the impact of recent investment in our learning environments. From the enhanced Early Years outdoor provision to the impressive new SEND Hub, it was inspiring to witness how these developments are helping to create even richer opportunities for children to learn, play and thrive. Trustees then visited St Nicholas Primary School to view the impressive building improvements completed over the summer. Thanks to the dedication and hard work of Steve McCaffer, our site teams and contractors, significant enhancements have been made to the school environment, providing high-quality spaces that support both pupils and staff.
The next stop was Bude Park Primary School, where Trustees met with our Inclusion Support Service Lead. This provided a fantastic opportunity to explore the training facilities first hand and hear more about our recently launched Inclusion Support Service traded offer, which is already attracting strong interest and positive engagement from schools across the region and beyond.
Following lunch, Trustees came together for an afternoon of strategic discussions and updates. They were given a tour of our newly launched staff intranet, HET Hive, which has been designed to strengthen communication, collaboration and connectivity across our growing Trust family. Discussions also focused on developments in communications and marketing, exploring how we continue to nurture advocacy, engagement and a strong sense of belonging throughout our Trust community. Important safeguarding updates were shared, alongside briefings on the latest Academy Trust Handbook and the implications for governance within multi-academy trusts. These sessions ensured Trustees remain well-informed and equipped to continue providing both support and constructive challenge in their vital governance role.
The final school visit of the day took Trustees to Neasden Primary School, where they were able to see another successful summer improvement project: the refurbishment of pupil toilet facilities. It was another example of our ongoing commitment to investing in high-quality environments that enhance the day-to-day experiences of children across our schools.
The day concluded with the first Trustee Board meeting of the new academic year, providing an opportunity to reflect on everything Trustees had seen and heard throughout the day and help cement the priorities and ambitions for the year ahead.
One of the things we value most about our annual Visioning Day is the opportunity it provides for Trustees to experience our schools in action and connect directly with the exceptional staff who make our Trust such a special place to work and learn. These visits help show our strategic priorities in action and ensure Trustees remain closely connected to the children, colleagues and communities they serve.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the staff and schools who so warmly welcomed Trustees into their communities, generously shared their work and dedicated time throughout the day. Their enthusiasm, professionalism and pride in their work were evident at every visit.
Finally, we would like to express our sincere thanks to our Trustees themselves. The time, expertise and commitment they give to Humber Education Trust is invaluable. Their willingness to provide support, encouragement, challenge and strategic guidance helps ensure that we continue to improve and provide the very best opportunities for the children, families and communities we serve.
The day was a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when dedicated people come together with a shared commitment to making a difference. Together, we continue to build a strong, ambitious and thriving family of schools – where everybody counts, every moment matters.
