Listening, Recognising and Valuing Our People

We are proud to announce the launch of our Long-Term Service Awards.
Listening to the views of colleagues across our Trust is fundamental to understanding how everyone experiences working for Humber Education Trust. We recently undertook an employee recognition survey to gather collective views from all staff; whilst it was heartening to hear that many colleagues feel recognition is being done well and positively received, one key theme emerged – finding a way to recognise long-term service.
To shape this initiative, our Staff Wellbeing Group, which brings together representatives from a wide range of roles and schools, explored good practice on thanking, recognising and valuing staff for their long-term service. As a result, we are proud to announce the launch of our Long-Term Service Awards, a new initiative designed to celebrate and recognise the incredible dedication of staff who have devoted many years of service to our schools.
So far, we’ve presented over 410 awards, with our longest-serving colleague having dedicated 36 years to one of our schools! The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive and we’re honoured to share moments like the recent assembly at Christopher Pickering School, where staff were celebrated for their long-term service.
We pay thanks to our staff for their support in making this happen; their views are important to us and help us shape a Trust where everyone feels valued, supported and part of something special.
We continue working collectively and collaboratively as one Trust to make a difference—where everybody counts, and every moment matters.
