Bursar Primary Academy and Cambridge Park Academy Receive Prestigious Safeguarding Award

This recognition highlights the dedication and commitment of both schools’ safeguarding teams.

We are thrilled to announce that Bursar Primary Academy and Cambridge Park Academy have been honoured with the North East Lincolnshire Safeguarding Children Partnership (SCP) Achievement Award.

This highly respected award celebrates individuals and teams who deliver outstanding safeguarding practice, going above and beyond to improve outcomes for children and young people across North East Lincolnshire. This recognition highlights the dedication and commitment of both schools’ safeguarding teams.

Nominated by their Headteachers, Kate Finney and Steve Kernan, these dedicated professionals have demonstrated unwavering passion for keeping children safe and supporting their wellbeing.

Kate Finney, Headteacher at Bursar Primary Academy, said:
"We take immense pride in our duty to safeguard every child in our care. I am thrilled that our safeguarding team has received this award; their commitment to creating a secure and nurturing environment is second to none. This recognition is a testament to their hard work and professionalism."

Steve Kernan, Principal at Cambridge Park Academy, added: “Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do at Cambridge Park Academy. Our core values – Community, Achievement, Respect and Enjoyment guide us in creating a safe, supportive environment where every child can thrive. This award is a testament to the dedication of our safeguarding team, who work tirelessly to ensure that every pupil feels valued, protected and empowered. I am incredibly proud of their commitment and the positive impact they make every single day.”

Both teams were formally recognised at the North East Lincolnshire Safeguarding Children’s Partnership Board meeting.
