Launch of our Teaching Toolkits

Last week marked the exciting launch of our Teaching Toolkits – a significant milestone in our journey to enhance teaching and learning across our schools!
We began the day with all 17 of our Headteachers coming together to explore evidence-based research on the impact of effective teaching. The session delved into the persistent problems of teaching, drawing on the influential work of Mary Kennedy. We revisited the principles of responsive coaching, discussing what it should and shouldn’t look like and officially launched our Teaching Toolkits in both booklet and App formats. The morning was packed with rich discussion and reflection.
In the afternoon, we welcomed colleagues from Cohort 1 of our recent Responsive Coaching programme. This session built on the morning’s themes, with a deeper dive into Mary Kennedy’s work and how responsive coaching aligns with the Teacher Development Programme. We explored effective success criteria, reflected on coaching practices and culture and launched the Teaching Toolkits to this group as well, sparking ideas for how they might be used in their own settings.
Feedback from both sessions was overwhelmingly positive. Our Teaching Toolkits are now being rolled out across our schools, and we’re excited to hear how they’re being used to support teaching and learning in diverse contexts. Watch this space!
