Making a Difference in 2026: The Power of Governance
Today, Humber Education Trust proudly celebrates National School Governor Awareness Day and the remarkable volunteers who strengthen our Trust and schools every single day.
On behalf of everyone at Humber Education Trust, we offer a heartfelt thank you to our 5 Members, 10 Trustees and 150 Governors for their dedication, generosity and unwavering commitment. Giving their time and expertise entirely on a voluntary basis, they provide thoughtful leadership, robust challenge and careful guidance — all united by a shared belief in our mission to improve the lives and life chances of children and young people.
Our Members, Trustees and Governors are the steady hands and sharp minds behind the scenes, ensuring every decision is made with integrity, purpose and ambition. Their influence reaches across classrooms, communities and futures.
Our recent Governance Survey highlighted several standout strengths:
- Exceptional safeguarding oversight, with 100% of respondents confirming robust processes and a culture of openness and respect in governance meetings.
- Over 96% of local governors agree that our vision is both shared and lived across our schools, with leaders welcoming constructive challenge.
- Outstanding praise for our culture of transparency, with 100% of respondents confirming every voice is valued and provides purposeful challenge to strengthen the Trust/school’s direction.
