Investing in Excellence

Celebrating Apprenticeship Success Across Humber Education Trust!

National Apprenticeship Week is underway, and we are delighted to celebrate the achievements and ongoing professional development of colleagues across our organisation. Our commitment to investing in its people remains central to our mission of delivering an exceptional education for every pupil.

Since April 2024, we have invested £809,000 from our Apprenticeship Levy to support the development of 99 members of staff. This significant investment reflects the Trust’s belief that high‑quality continual professional development ensures every colleague feels valued, supported and equipped with the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to provide the very best for the children and young people they serve.

We are incredibly proud that 82 colleagues have embarked on Teaching Assistant Apprenticeships and an additional 17 colleagues are undertaking a range of qualifications with a variety of Apprenticeship providers. This collective commitment demonstrates our shared dedication to growth, excellence and the highest standards of support for children and young people across the Trust.

Colleagues have already shared powerful reflections on the impact of their studies. One said:

“I found the course taught me things about me! It illuminated why I do the things I do in my everyday role, but also educated me on how to do those things better and with more confidence.”

Paul Plumridge, Deputy CEO, added:

“We believe that education is a gift that has the power to transform lives. Our commitment extends not only to our children and young people, but equally to the personal and professional development of our staff. The impact of our Apprenticeship programme is already clear; colleagues are more confident, more skilled and more empowered in their roles which is directly improving the experience and outcomes of the children and young people we serve. Several colleagues have already completed their qualifications, with many more nearing the finish line; we are incredibly proud of their achievements and wish everyone the very best as they continue their learning journey.”

As we celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, we are proud to recognise the achievements of our colleagues and reaffirm our commitment to developing a skilled, confident and empowered workforce.
