Frederick Holmes School pupils have been taking part in NSPCC ‘Speak Out Stay Safe’ activities

Pupils at Frederick Holmes embraced the programme!

The NSPCC’s ‘Speak out Stay Safe’ programme helps children and young people understand what abuse is in an age‑appropriate and accessible way. It empowers them to recognise unsafe situations and to speak out to trusted adults if they ever feel worried or unsafe. This work is especially important for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), who can face increased risks due to factors such as communication challenges, a higher dependence on adults and social or emotional vulnerabilities. Tailored safeguarding education ensures these children and young people receive the knowledge and confidence they need to stay safe.

Pupils at Frederick Holmes embraced the programme and shared key safeguarding messages as can be seen in the below poster. Their thoughtful and impactful work was showcased last week at the Hull Local Authority Designated Safeguarding Leads Network meeting, shared by the NSPCC.

We would like to thank the NSPCC for delivering such an important programme and extend our appreciation to the staff and pupils at Frederick Holmes School for being outstanding advocates for keeping children safe.
